MetCon Wednesdays 9:20 to 10am: A metabolic conditioning workout, or MetCon for short, is a fast paced, high intensity workout completed in a short period of time that will challenge your cardiovascular capacity, put your metabolism into overdrive and rapidly burn fat!

Golf Fitness, Wednesdays 6-6:45pm: Come and learn how working out can improve your golf game! Golf Fitness is perfect for golfers of all levels who want to learn and apply the best mobility, flexibility, and core movements to advance your golf game.

Cardio, Glutes, & Abs, Fridays 9-10:30am: A one hour class to amp up your cardiovascular system and strengthen your core and lower body! Cardio, Glutes, & Abs uses a step, Bosu, and weights to engage every muscle for a total cardio workout, with an emphasis on the glutes, quads, and hamstrings.

1000 Calorie Spin, Fridays 10:45am – 12pm: This heart pumping ride doesn’t stop until you’ve burned 1,000 calories! This spinning class is focused on interval training to maximize your caloric burn!

2016 Glenmoor Fitness Challenge

BarbellThe Glenmoor Fitness Challenge starts January 1st, sign up today!

The Glenmoor Fitness Challenge is a contest to help you start your healthy New Year’s resolution on the right foot. For exercising at the Glenmoor Fitness Center you will earn points towards a final total—helping you to earn Glenmoor prizes!

  • All participants will receive a Glenmoor Fitness water bottle.
  • Each participant that earns 200 points will receive a 2016 Glenmoor Fitness Challenge t-shirt.
  • Participants who earn 500 points will receive a 30% off Glenmoor voucher which can be used throughout the club.
  • The top three participants will earn the Grand Prize Glenmoor Gift Cards redeemable anywhere throughout the Club!
    • First place will receive a $200.00 Gift Card;
    • Second place will receive a $100.00 Gift Card; and
    • Third place will receive a $50.00 Gift Card.

Weekly point totals will be posted at the Fitness Center and will be posted online. A maximum of 30 points per day may be earned. Point values are determined by the type and duration of the exercise you choose to perform:

Thanksgiving Fitness Schedule

On Thursday, the Fitness Center will be open from 8:00am until 12:00pm. The Fitness Class Schedule will be as follows:

  • 8:30 – 9:15am Total Body Toning (Kristen)
  • 9:20 – 10:10am Spinning (Greer)

All other Thursday classes are cancelled.

On Friday, classes will resume as scheduled except the 6:00am-7:00am PowerFit class is cancelled.

Thursday’s Cross-Training Cardio Cancelled, But Come Check Out Spinning!

On Thursday, November 5th, the 9:15am Cross-Training Cardio class is cancelled. But, Spinning with Greer at 9:20am is still on! Come spin your way through an intense session of aerobic training–great music and a great calorie burner!!

Personal Training with Alex!

Alex’s background in personal training and group fitness stems from his military service where he became certified and served as an Airforce Physical Training Leader and as a Unit Fitness Program Manager. In these roles, Alex incorporated both nutrition and fitness into lifestyle regimens specifically designed to achieve each personal training client’s individual goals.

In addition to his military training background, Alex specializes in sports fitness and nutrition. In the area of golf, Alex offers individualized programs to build and improve golf flexibility and stamina—making him the ideal personal trainer for golfers during the off-season! Similarly, Alex provides special speed, agility, and strength training for basketball, football, baseball, and other athletes. Training with Alex allows athletes to improve and maintain their competitive edge!

Please welcome our newest instructor, Alex Maurer! Alex will be teaching all Powerfit classes–please see the Fitness Center schedule for class times and more information. Alex’s Powerfit class will focus on strength improvement, and provide a workout of the day to include bodyweight exercises, rowing, running, kettlebells, free weights, and more!

Powerfit Class Schedule for the Week of October 11th

The Powerfit classes scheduled for Monday, October 12th, and Wednesday, October 14th,  from 6am to 7am are cancelled.

But, the Powerfit classes scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm and Thursday, October 15th from 6:15pm to 7:15pm will continue as scheduled!! Our awesome instructor Rhonda will be subbing the classes. Get ready to work!!!

Fitness Class Spotlight: Spin & Sculpt with Greer!

With the variety of fitness classes that Glenmoor’s Fitness Center has to offer, sometimes the choice of which class to take can be tough. Do you feel like an intense cardiovascular workout or maybe some solid weight training? Fortunately, we have the perfect class for those who can’t make up their mind—Spin & Sculpt! Spin & Sculpt is offered on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 7:15pm.

Taught by our certified instructor, Greer Rothermel, Spin & Sculpt combines 45-minutes of spinning followed by 30-minutes of total body toning. Greer will take you through this endurance-building workout that also tones and strengthens all your major muscle groups!

During the spinning portion of the class, Greer will challenge you with sprints and climbs that will ramp up your heart rate! If you’re new to spinning, this is a great opportunity to become comfortable with the bike and learn hand and feet positions, as Greer will provide instruction on proper form and use.

After your 45-minute spin session, it’s time to sculpt! Greer will instruct you through this 30-minute resistance training workout utilizing your bodyweight, dumbbells, bands, and much more! This workout is designed to tone and tighten your entire body.

This combined Spin & Sculpt class provides you the option to choose what kind of workout you need that day—feel free to partake in the Spin or the Sculpt only, or stay for the whole class and get it all done at once! So come join Greer at Spin & Sculpt on Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 7:15pm! Also, check out our new October Fitness Class schedule for more fun and challenging classes!

One of our new classes is Spin & Sculpt with Greer on Wednesdays at 6pm! Take this class for 45 minutes of Spin and 30 minutes of Total Body Toning! Tone and tighten your entire body while developing strength and endurance simultaneously!

Also, we have now added Zumba with Kristen on Saturdays at 9:15am! Zumba is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness: cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility. Zumba fuses international rhythms with easy-to-follow dance moves—come join the party!
